{"id":1758,"date":"2014-03-04T13:06:39","date_gmt":"2014-03-04T18:06:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.mansfieldplumbing.com\/?p=207"},"modified":"2014-03-04T13:06:39","modified_gmt":"2014-03-04T18:06:39","slug":"six-bathroom-safety-tips-for-kids","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mansfieldplumbing.com\/blog\/six-bathroom-safety-tips-for-kids\/","title":{"rendered":"Six Bathroom Safety Tips for Kids"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At Mansfield, we\u2019re all really excited about our latest \u2013 and smallest &#8211; product release:\u00a0 A toilet designed just for kids, with the perfect height for little ones and several safety features.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mansfieldplumbing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Elementary_toilet_child-square.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-208 alignright\" style=\"border: 1px solid gray; margin: 10px;\" alt=\"Elementary_toilet_child-square\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mansfieldplumbing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Elementary_toilet_child-square-700x700.jpg\" width=\"294\" height=\"294\" data-id=\"208\" \/><\/a>In this photo of Mansfield\u2019s new \u201cElementary Toilet,\u201d you can see my granddaughter, Nevaeh.\u00a0 Isn\u2019t she cute?<\/p>\n<p>In celebration of our new kid-sized toilet, which includes a slow-closing seat to protect kids\u2019 fingers and a cover lock that prevents them from playing with the tank trim, I wanted to share my top tips for making sure your kids are safe in the bathroom:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Tip 1:\u00a0 Install Anti-Slip Bathtub Stickers<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Several companies manufacture anti-slip \u201cstickers\u201d you can put in the bottom of your bathtub so your kid doesn\u2019t injure herself or himself while bathing.\u00a0 You can find a variety of fun stickers your kids will love, from rubber ducks to dolphins.<\/p>\n<p><b>Tip 2: Never Leave a Child Unattended<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Never leave a young child alone in the bathtub.\u00a0 Stay close to them so you can reach them quickly.\u00a0 Gather bathing materials (towels, soap, etc.) before putting them in the tub.\u00a0 If your child is older, check on them often.<\/p>\n<p><b>Tip 3: Use Grab Bars<\/b><\/p>\n<p>While your child is bathing, a grab bar should be within easy reach.\u00a0 You can even find moveable grab bars that you can reposition as your child gets older \u2013 and taller.<\/p>\n<p><b>Tip 4:\u00a0 Unplug Appliances After Every Use<\/b><\/p>\n<p>If you have any products that are regularly plugged in your bathroom, be sure to actively unplug them after every use.\u00a0 A child could easily pull the appliance into water not knowing the potential danger.<\/p>\n<p><b>Tip 5: Regularly Check Water Temperatures<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Be sure to actively monitor water temperatures.\u00a0 A faucet turned warm can easily turn to scalding hot without close supervision.<\/p>\n<p><b>Tip 6:\u00a0 Lock the Medicine Cabinet<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Keep all medicines in the bathroom in a locked cabinet.\u00a0 Tablets and pills can look like candy or mints to a small child.<\/p>\n<p>With a little precaution, your bathroom can be the safe haven you want it to be for your kids.\u00a0 If you have any other bathroom safety tips for kids, I\u2019d love to hear them!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At Mansfield, we\u2019re all really excited about our latest \u2013 and smallest &#8211; product release:\u00a0 A toilet designed just for kids, with the perfect height for little ones and several safety features.
